🎯 100,000 Points for a Great Cause: Our IT Desk Darts Marathon for Macmillan

On Friday 19th September, the IT Desk team is taking on a high-stakes challenge — a darts marathon in support of Macmillan Cancer Support, aiming to hit a massive 100,000 points in just one day.

We’ll be getting things started bright and early at 7am, and thanks to a slick rotation system, we’ll be keeping darts in the air and IT services running smoothly throughout the day.

Why We're Doing This

Most of us know someone affected by cancer, and Macmillan provides vital support to those navigating one of life’s toughest journeys. This Macmillan fundraiser is our way of giving back — raising money, raising awareness, and maybe even raising a few eyebrows with our dart-throwing skills.

How It Works

We’ll have two dart boards set up and running all day at The Active Club. To make sure the business doesn’t skip a beat, one IT Desk staff member will be on each board at any given time, rotating every 20 minutes. That way, we can keep the darts flying while still keeping everything ticking over on the service side.

The goal? 100,000 points. The motivation? Supporting Macmillan. The plan? Controlled chaos, but for a good cause.

We’re incredibly grateful to be hosting our darts marathon at The Active Club Hub — a dynamic, community-focused organisation that’s so much more than just a venue.

Run by Danny and his team, The Active Club is all about bringing people together through fun, inclusive, and engaging activities across all age groups. From birthday parties to school programmes to grassroots sports, they’ve created a space that truly lives up to its name.

Here’s a quick look at what they offer:

Primary School Programmes – Supporting schools with breakfast clubs, dinner time activities, PE lessons, active phonics, and after-school sports clubs. They also run motivational Key Life workshops and organise competitions like sports days and taster sessions for new sports.
The Darts Club Academy – A unique, accredited darts academy for students aged 7–18, run across three venues and backed by the Junior Darts Corporation. It’s an amazing opportunity for young people to learn, compete, and grow in a supportive environment.
The Active Club Hub – A brand-new community hub that plays host to a wide range of events — including our very own Macmillan darts marathon! It’s a space built for connection, energy, and making things happen.
